Alawwa rail accident

In the Alawwa rail accident, three people were killed and 14 injured when a passenger train hit the rear of a stationary Inter-City express train at Alawwa railway station in Sri Lanka on the17th September 2011 .[1]

Compensation will be paid to the families of those killed, and to the injured.[2]

A committee will probe the causes of the accident.[3]
